John Travolta's son Killed by Seizure

FREEPORT, Bahamas (AP) — Jett Travolta's body shows no sign of head trauma and his death certificate says he was killed by a seizure, an undertaker said Monday, after doctors performed an autopsy on the 16-year-old son of the U.S actor.
The remains of John Travolta's son were being cremated and his parents planned to return to the United States with the ashes on Tuesday, said Keith McSweeney, director of the funeral home handling the body.
Jett Travolta had a history of seizures and was found unconscious in a bathroom Friday at a family vacation home on Grand Bahama Island.
Glen Campbell, assistant director of the funeral home, told The Associated Press that the body is in "great condition," despite police officials who had said the teen hit his head on a bathtub.
Authorities didn't release the results of an autopsy performed Monday, but Campbell saw the body and the death certificate, which was based on its findings.
"The only cause of death that was listed was 'seizure'," he said.
Late Monday, a black hearse traveled from the funeral home to the airport after the family indicated they were bringing Jett's remains to Ocala, Florida, where they own a home. Two white jets waited as police in dress uniforms blocked access to the tarmac.
But the hearse was dispatched as a ruse, McSweeney told a news conference later Monday. He said he could not explain the reason for the decoy.
In a public statement released Sunday, John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston said they were "heartbroken that our time with him was so brief."
Travolta tried CPR to revive his son, who may have died in his arms before an emergency medical technician took over, Usmagazine.com reported, citing Travolta attorneys Michael McDermott and Michael Ossi. They did not respond to calls from the AP on Monday.
Travolta, 54, and Preston, 46, have said Jett became very sick when he was 2 years old and was diagnosed with Kawasaki Syndrome, an illness that leads to inflamed blood vessels. Preston has blamed household cleaners and fertilizers and said a detoxification program based on teachings from the Church of Scientology helped improve his health, according to People magazine.
Police said in a statement that Jett had not been seen since Thursday when a caretaker, Jeff Kathrain, found him unconscious late Friday morning. But McDermott said that wrongly left the impression that Jett was unsupervised. He said two nannies were with Jett throughout the evening, and he does not believe the teen was in the bathroom for very long.
About a dozen security guards and Bahamian police officers patrolled around the luxury Old Bahama Bay resort community Sunday where the Travoltas have their home. The white-sand beach in front of the suites was closed.
The couple also has an 8-year-old daughter, Ella Bleu.
Bahamian Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham sent condolences to the Travolta family and said the autopsy is a formality the country requires in cases of sudden death to rule out foul play

"I've had a tremendous amount of energy, which is lucky, because I have a 14-month-old." She and boyfriend Jason Momoa will be keeping the sex of the baby a delivery surprise, as they did with daughter Lola Iolani last year. Lisa explains,

David Duchovny may be out of his sex-addiction rehab. But his marriage to Téa Leoni didn’t survive.
"In light of continuous speculation over the lives and marriage of Téa Leoni and David Duchovny, the couple has confirmed that they have in fact been separated for several months," a statement from his camp said. "The couple had hoped to keep this separation private for the sake of their children."

Desperate Housewives Star Gale Harold Hospitalized

Scary news: Hospital sources confirm that Desperate Housewives star Gale Harold is in the neurosurgical intensive care unit at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center.
According to a representative for the actor, "We can confirm that Gale Harold was in a motorcycle accident yesterday, Oct 14. He has fractured his shoulder and is under observation to assess any possible further injuries. Everyone is hopeful for a full recovery. No one else was injured in the accident."
Despite assurances to me from Gale's reps that the information above is correct, according to reports, Gale's condition is officially classified as critical, and physicians are concerned about brain swelling.
A statement from producers of the soapy ABC says, "Gale is part of the Desperate Housewives family and our thoughts and wishes are with him for a speedy recovery." Writers will reportedly rework at least one scene in a November sweeps episode to accommodate the situation, and sources tell me that the accident is not expected to interrupt production.
Gale Harold plays Jackson, Susan Mayer's (Teri Hatcher) new man, this season on Desperate Housewives. He also has a huge cult following among TV fans from his days on Showtime's Queer as Folk. (E Online!)

Madonna, 50, who performed Wednesday night in Boston on her "Sticky and Sweet" world tour, married Ritchie, 40, in December 2000 in a lavish ceremony at a Scottish castle. She had met him at a dinner party hosted by rock star Sting.

Victoria Beckham's Housekeepers Arrested for Alleged Theft

Two housekeepers who work for David and Victoria Beckham have been arrested for suspicion of theft. Police busted Eric Emmett, 55, and his wife June, 56, as well as a 25-year-old man, after several of the Beckham couple's items -- including Victoria's dresses and David's soccer memorabilia -- ended up on eBay, the Associated Press reports.Eric Emmett told BBC News the allegations are "nonsense." While no charges have been filed, police issued the following statement:"We are currently investigating an allegation of theft from a private address in Sawbridgeworth. The theft was reported to police at 4:45 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2008. A 56-year-old woman from Essex and a 55-year-old man, also from Essex, have been arrested in connection with this incident and are currently on police bail."Added an eBay rep: "If it transpires that our site was being used to list stolen goods then we will work with the police to press for the harshest penalties." Cheadle replaces Howard in "Iron Man" sequel

In a surprise move, Don Cheadle will replace Terrence Howard as Robert Downey Jr's best friend in "Iron Man 2," the sequel to the superhero saga.
In the Marvel Studios summer smash, Howard played Jim Rhodes, Tony Stark/Iron Man's future armor-clad hero War Machine. One scene featured Howard looking at a silver suit of armor and saying "Next time," a line that caused great delight for fans.
But there will be no next time for Howard. Marvel had no comment, but sources close to the deal said negotiations with Howard fell through over financial differences, among other reasons. Marvel, which had wanted to work with Cheadle, then decided to take the role in another direction and approached the actor.
The Rhodes character is expected to play a larger part in the sequel, which is rumored to go beyond high-tech villains. Downey is expected back as billionaire industrialist Stark/Iron Man. Gwyneth Paltrow also is expected to be back as Stark's assistant, Pepper Potts. "Iron Man 2" is scheduled for release on May 7, 2010 (Associated Press)

Kim Kardashian Voted off Dancing With The Stars

Reality televison star Kim Kardashian became the third contestant to be eliminated from the US version of 'Strictly Come Dancing' last night.
Association Press reports that the TV star and her dance partner, Mark Ballas, were eliminated after receiving a low score of 17 out of 30 from the panel of judges. She lost out after that score was combined with the viewers' votes.
It had been widely expected that the next to go would be the oldest contestant in the competition, actress Cloris Leachman who scored just 15 points but the public chose to save her. After her elimination she said "Today, five years ago, my father passed away, and I just know he's really happy and watching over me, and I made him proud."
Model and actress Brooke Burke and partner Derek Hough continued to impress the judges sharing the top spot with sportsman Warren Sapp and his partner Kym Johnson. (AP)

David Archuleta is set to make his acting debut in an episode of Nickelodeon's iCarly. The American Idol Season 7 runner-up will play himself when the cameras roll on Thursday, Nickelodeon confirms. iCarly centers around a high school student, played by Miranda Cosgrove, who runs a video blog with her friends. In the episode titled "iRocked the Vote," Archuleta, 16, plays a contestant on an Idol-style show called America Sings. He gets a huge spike in votes after winning support in an iCarly webcast. Archuleta recently released his first music video for the song "Crush," which will appear on his self-titled debut album, due Nov. 11 on Jive Records. His episode of iCarly will air next spring. Heather Locklear Arrested on DUI Charge

Heather Locklear was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Saturday evening in Santa Barbara County, Calif. "Around 4:30 p.m., a female witness saw Heather Locklear driving erratically while leaving a parking lot in Montecito," California Highway Patrol spokesman Tom Marshall tells PEOPLE. "The witness said Locklear was revving her engine loudly, and backed over a pair of sunglasses several times." Soon after, the witness – who apparently didn't recognize the actress – spotted Locklear, 47, stopped on a nearby highway, exiting her vehicle. "The witness called 911 because she was concerned for Locklear's safety," Marshall said. "When a CHP officer arrived, Locklear was found seated inside her vehicle, which was partially blocking the roadway." Because Locklear appeared "disoriented and impaired," she was taken to a local CHP station and drug and alcohol tests were administered, Marshall said. The actress was cooperative. "Alcohol was ruled out as a factor, but based on the officer's observations, we believe Locklear was under the influence of prescription medication," Marshall added. Locklear was arrested on suspicion of DUI and being under the influence of a controlled substance. She booked at a local jail around 7 p.m., and released hours later. (People.com)

Janet Jackson released from hospital

NEW YORK - Janet Jackson was released from a Montreal hospital just two hours after she arrived, a spokeswoman for the facility said Tuesday, but it was still not clear why she was admitted. The 42-year-old singer became "suddenly ill" and was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital on Monday night shortly before her scheduled concert in Montreal, which was canceled, according to a statement released by W&W Public Relations.
Jackson was at Royal Victoria but was released two hours later, said Rebecca Burns, representative for McGill University Health Centre, which runs the hospital. Representaives for Jackson would not elaborate on her condition Tuesday, simply saying that she was ill and was "recuperating."
Meanwhile, Jackson's shows in Boston and Philadelphia on Wednesday and Thursday were postponed and she was due to resume her tour in Greensboro, N.C. on Saturday. There was no information on when those shows would be rescheduled.
Jackson, who is on her first North American tour in seven years, dropped out of her scheduled "Saturday Night Live" performance in March because she had the flu, and her publicist said at the time that she went to the hospital for treatment but was not admitted. (AP)

LOS ANGELES - Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds did a little rushing into it after all. The couple married this weekend, according to publicist Meredith O'Sullivan. She did not provide details. Us Weekly reported on its Web site Sunday that the small wedding took place at a resort outside Vancouver, British Columbia. Guests included Scarlett's mother, Melanie Sloan, and her brother, Adrian Johansson, the magazine said.
The couple announced their engagement in May.
"We're just enjoying our time," the actress said last month. "We're just recently — very recently — engaged. So, you know, we're just taking it easy. And no big plan yet. But it's a good time and we're just ... enjoying our time to be young and engaged.
"I mean, I'm 23. There's no reason to rush into it. Everything feels very natural and relaxed."

Will Smith to return with 'I Am Legend' prequel

London, Sep 25 (IANS) Hollywood actor Will Smith is returning to the big screen for an "I Am Legend" prequel.
Smith will reprise his role as Dr. Robert Neville in the film that will be directed by Francis Lawrence, who also made the first film, reports thesun.co.uk.
The prequel will follow Smith's character in the last days before and after a man-made virus wreaks havoc on New York City.
A sequel was considered but later disregarded, as a new lead would have had to take centre stage, considering the fate of Smith's role in the first film.

Legendary actor Paul Newman dies at age 83

Paul Newman the Academy-Award winning superstar who personified cool as an activist, race car driver, popcorn impresario and the anti-hero of such films as "Hud," "Cool Hand Luke" and "The Color of Money," has died. He was 83.
Newman died Friday after a long battle with cancer at his farmhouse near Westport, publicist Jeff Sanderson said. He was surrounded by his family and close friends.
In May, Newman he had dropped plans to direct a fall production of "Of Mice and Men," citing unspecified health issues. (AP)

I wasn't raised that way, and I'm not going to raise a child to do that." Aiken says he expects the news may overwhelm some of his fans. "Whether it be having a child out of wedlock, or whether it be simply being a homosexual, it's going to be a lot," said Aiken, who returned to Broadway last week as Sir Robin in Monty Python's Spamalot.

LOS ANGELES (AFP) — Laila Ali, daughter of boxing legend Muhammad Ali and a champion fighter in her own right, has welcomed her first child with husband Curtis Conway, she announced Thursday on her website.
Curtis Muhammad Conway Jr. was born on August 26 and weighed in at 6.8 pounds.
"Mama and baby are resting!" said Ali, who owns a ring record of 24-0 with 21 knockouts and is considered the world's top female boxer.
The 30-year-old has also become a television celebrity, as a contestant on "Dancing with the Stars" and host of "American Gladiator".
Ali married Conway, a retired National Football League player who is seven years her senior, in July 2007.
Her 66-year-old father, perhaps the best known athlete in the world, was banished from boxing for refusing induction into the US Army to fight in Vietnam.
He later became a legend for humanitarian work, which he has continued despite battling Parkinson's disease.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Kanye West and his bodyguard, Don Crowley, were arrested at LAX this morning, the LAX Police Department has confirmed to Access Hollywood, which was the first news outlet to break the news online today.
The incident took place at 7:51 AM this morning at the entrance to the security checkpoint for American Airlines at Terminal 4. The two were en route to Honolulu at the time.
According to an eyewitness on the scene who spoke with Access, the incident began when Kanye approached a camera that was being aimed at him by a photographer.
According to the gossip Web site TMZ.com, the paparazzo was attempting to photograph the rap star, when Kanye allegedly confronted the photographer, grabbing his camera (reportedly valued at over $10,000) and smashing it to the ground. Kanye then smashed another piece of the camera, possibly the flash, to the ground.
A TMZ videographer named Erik, who was also present, was attempting to videotape Kanye and the photographer, when Don (the bodyguard) grabbed TMZ's video camera. A struggle reportedly ensued between Don and Erik.

'Inside Man' Sequel On Its Way

A sequel to Spike Lee's "Inside Man" is moving forward at Universal, with Terry George in negotiations to write the screenplay and Lee coming back to direct the Brian Grazer-produced film."Inside Man 2," as the project is tentatively being called, will pick up on the characters and dynamic but not the story line of the original.
